Mr. Todd Kosiewicz was hired this year as a science teacher. He teaches physics and chemistry.

Last summer, Head of School Mr. Paul Harrell, who happened to be his neighbor, told Mr. Koseiwicz about a teacher opening at VCS.
“God led me here through friends who live near my house,” Mr. Kosiewicz said.

Before college, Mr. Todd Koseiwicz attended Thomas Downey High School in Modesto. His favorite high school memories were from when he was a member of the school choir. He was a member of an all-men’s choir that competed with other school choirs in the area.
“My most important, enjoyable time was in choir, going on field trips and watching other schools perform,” he said.
He graduated from the University of California Santa Barbara, double majoring in biological psychology and psychology.
After college, he worked at Genentech for 13 years and as a handyman for 4 years.

He is married and has 4 children: Abby, the oldest child, a set of twins named Jackson and Marissa (who are in 5th grade at VC Elementary), and the youngest child, Elyse, who’s two years old.
Mr. Kosiewicz was raised a Christian but did form a stronger relationship with God 13 years ago when he started going to small groups at The Father’s House with his wife. This small group focused on relationships which brought them closer together as well as closer to God.

He began a career in the sciences because of his own interest in it, becoming fascinated while he was in school.

“Every time I learned something new in science I wanted to learn more and it was exciting. It was the only class or thing I was kind of drawn to in school,” he said.

Outside of school, he also enjoys fixing old cars, doing yard work and playing video games.

“I have a Barracuda fastback that I’m working on right now. As for video games, I know some people say they’re bad, but sometimes I need something I don’t really need to think about, and I play them with my kids,” Mr. Kosiewicz said.

Within the next few years, Mr. Todd Kosiewicz hopes to be able to finish his teaching credential as well as lose forty pounds. He is also trying to be more open about God with his children.

He believes that everyone should spend their time doing things that they love and that they are passionate about.

“The amount of time you spend doing something will show who you are and what you love,” Mr. Todd Kosiewicz said.
