David Martinez and Annelise Lambrecht are driven by Cole Robinson as they leave the field as the Queen and King

The night of 10/22/21 was an eventful one. Vaca Christian High School had many things going on from football to nominating this year’s homecoming king and queen.

This year’s homecoming game had been threatened with rain, but the evening offered a variety of activities in addition to the football game against Esparto: crowning of royalty and multiple cheer squad performances made halftime exciting.

The football game was an exciting one, and the Falcons got the win. They felt like they played well, according to senior Kyle Smith. “We felt pretty good, just had to stick to the plan.” Kyle said.  “We need to work on our special teams because that’s the only reason why they scored.”

VCS Cheer let the visiting Esparta squad perform first when halftime came, so Esparto took the field and performed their stunts. VCS junior and senior cheer squad combined for the night, including their dance, tumbling, and stunts.

After the squads left the field, the student royal nominees were introduced.  The freshman Lord and Lady were Liam Hilscher and Reese Cash. The sophomore Count and Countess were Levi West and Kelsey Trumble. The juniors’ Duke and Duchess were Dylan Martin and Nakaya Peters, and  the seniors had their Prince and Princess, Kaden Connelley and Cali Webb.  Homecoming King and Queen were   David Martinez and Annelise Lambrecht.
