The boys’ junior varsity basketball team finished their season with an 8-16 overall record and a 4-5 league record. The JV team was coached by first-time Head Coach Mr. Rick Everhart. Coach Everhart served as an assistant coach on the varsity basketball team last year.

The boys’ team had 10 people on the roster: one freshman, Marcus Linton, and sophomores Cashiff Kennedy, Nate Pineschi, Houston Bradeson, Jack Worthan, Kevin Zheng, Jason Liu, Sunny Dadhwal, Bill Li, and Andrew Love-Fields.

The team’s success is largely due to the multiple JV returners.

“I learned to not give up and keep on going no matter the score,” sophomore Sunny Dadhwal said.

Sophomore Nate Pineschi is currently leading the team with 13 points per game and 13 rebounds per game, while sophomores Sunny Dadhwal and Houston Bradeson are averaging 6 points per game.

“My favorite game was the come-from-behind win against Stockton Christian. We were down 10 points in the 4th quarter. Our defense started to make plays and we scored 20 points, eight by Houston Bradeson, including the game-winning three-pointer with less than 7 seconds to go in the game,” Coach Everhart said.

With four of the five varsity starters being seniors, the large sophomore class coming from JV will help fill those vacant spots for next year’s varsity team.
