Volleyball Returns

Despite other sports, like basketball, being cancelled due to Covid-19, the expectation is that there will be a men’s volleyball season this year.

However, there is still uncertainty regarding the availability of schools. In addition to this uncertainty, practice is still made difficult due to the Covid-19 guidelines.

“We’ve been very limited on what we have been able to do at practice like not being to share equipment, until recently, and therefore restricting our ability to actually play,” senior Sean Tracy said.

“We always try to keep the same intensity but sometimes it is a little different… for a while we could only have so many people in the gym so we would split into groups so one group would go outside and the other would stay inside,” senior Gabe Cabezas said.

Some seniors have lost motivation to play their sport due to the limitations placed on their season, but our volleyball seniors have stayed motivated for the betterment of the team.

“My motivation comes from the fact that this season will be my last season before going to college, and I want to make sure that the underclassmen are able to take over after I leave,” said Sean.

“I’ve maintained my motivation to practice by wanting t better myself and because I know how difficult it is to get back into the groove after taking a break,” Gabe said.
