Go Falcons! Swim your Best!

The Falcon swim team had a nice  starting point in the season against Rio Vista on Friday, March 18. The boys placed 2nd and girls were 3rd. It was their first swim meet and both boys and girls did well. In the 400 yard Freestyle Relay, girls Elaina Craig, Bella Butler, Jordan Holden and Katelin Uy finished with a time of 04:42.6 and boys Mason Releford, Aiden Stevens, Lukas Donaldson and Phillip Lee had a time of 04:08.2. “Not too shabby with it being their first meet,” coach Grace Erkenef said.

The team has 14 members: freshmen Cameron Humphries, Phillip Lee, TJ Damon, Aiden Stevens, Lukas Donaldson, and Eric Wong; sophomores Katelin Uy and Kara Krulick; juniors Jordan Holden, Mason Releford, and Bella Butler; and seniors Laura Everett, Nani Tabura and Elaina Craig.

All practices are held at the Walter V. Graham Aquatic Center located on Alamo Drive in Vacaville. The practice days are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 7:15- 8:15 pm and Tuesday 2:15-3:15 pm. They have three coaches; during the practices coach Jeremy Craig and Scott Parrish will be assisting coach Grace this season as Grace Erkeneff will be out on maternity leave.

“This season we will have a full season along with having all the meets necessary for high school swimming. Last year, there were many limitations due to Covid but I am happy that all the athletes are able to experience a somewhat normal season,” coach Grace Erkeneff said.

“I am having a great time on the swim team. Our coach Grace, Jeremy, and Scott are all very helpful and patient as they teach all the technical skills. This is my fourth year on the team,” senior Laura Everett said.
